OTML D11 Dozer Blade transported into TKI yard for works

The transport and technical services departments of TKI work together to continually deliver tailored solutions to our customers. In this case, the transport department took control of OTML D11 dozer blades from their point of origin at Kiunga wharf. The blades weigh 13 Ton each and are transported by TKI 134 kilometres along the Kiunga - Tabubil highway for works in the TKI yard by the Technical Services team.

The team are charged with fitting the wear plates to the blade face. This ensures the life span of the blade is prolonged due to the operational stress taking its toll upon the wear plates and not the blade structure itself. This is a familiar task for the Technical Services Team and they were selected again by OTML due to their consistent high standard of work and overall safe operations. Once the Tech Services team have competed the wear plates, the transport team load and safely transport the blades their final 30 kilometre journey and hand them over to OTML Mining Operations.
