June the fifth, represents world environment day, a chance for people around the world to get involved with a great cause, that can help everyone. This comes in different forms around the world, some people choose to walk to work instead of driving, while others plant trees to boost the tree population.
This year TKI got involved with Ok Tedi Mine personal as well as other business in the area, to carry out a rubbish clean-up operation at Finalbin village. The team grouped together early in the morning and made their way to the village by bus. Just over twenty TKI personal attended, along with other volunteers, the job was completed in a little over three hours.
Congratulations to the TKI team members who got involved, the residents of Finalbin and the other volunteers who helped. The difference made was noticeable and has highlighted the importance of team work and keeping our environment clean.
